The NGO Gender Coordination Network (NGOGCN) currently has 63 member organisations. These organisations are clustered according to five thematic working groups namely:

1) Agriculture and Economic Empowerment of women(AEEW);

2) Gender Based Violence(GBV);

3) Gender Related Laws(GRL);

4) Child Rights(CR) and;

5) Women in politics and Decision Making(WPDM)

To become a member of the NGO-GCN, an organization must meet several criteria based on the network’s goals and governance structures:

  1. Commitment to Gender Equality and Women’s Advancement: The organization must be involved in the promotion of gender equality and the advancement of women in society, aligning with the objectives of NGO-GCN.
  2. Annual Membership Fee: Membership requires the payment of an annual fee, as determined by the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The organization must remain up-to-date with its membership dues, ensuring no arrears for over three months.
  3. Governance Approval: New membership applications must be reviewed and endorsed by the AGM. The organization's objectives and activities will be scrutinized to ensure they align with NGO-GCN's mission and goals.
  4. Active Participation: Membership comes with the responsibility to actively engage in the network's activities, including contributing to discussions and attending meetings.
  5. Eligibility for Governance Roles: Only bona-fide members are eligible to vote and participate in the election of the Board of Trustees, as well as serve in governance positions themselves.

By adhering to these steps and fulfilling the criteria outlined in the organization’s constitution, an NGO or Civil Society Organization (CSO) can become a member of NGO-GCN and contribute to its efforts in promoting gender equality and women's empowerment.
